Ms. Webber
Hi everyone. My name is Ms. Webber and I really look forward to meeting all of you in class this Fall!
I am truly excited to be teaching at CSI High School for International Studies because learning about foreign languages and cultures has always been a passion of mine and I hope to share my enthusiasm you! As a matter of fact, I began my career in international relations and business development in High School just like you; so, I hope you will take advantage of all the learning opportunities we’ve prepared for you.
My first trip abroad was to Costa Rica through the American Field Service (AFS). I was in the 11th grade and it was the experience of a lifetime! Since then, I have traveled and lived overseas for a span of nearly 10 years working in the fashion industry, in higher education and in international relations in Japan. I’ve also studied at the University of Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica and in Archamps, France just across the border from Geneva, Switzerland. I’ve traveled to 11 countries, all of which exposed me to various perspectives and cultural traditions that I adopted along the way! In May 2003, I graduated from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with my MBA in International Brand Management.
The greatest joy of my career; however, is an opportunity to teach and to learn from each of you! On a recent trip to Japan, I had a wonderful opportunity to catch up with one of my former students. I am so proud of him because he worked hard and was determined to explore the world. He went on to study abroad and is now working for a large French luxury handbag company in Japan. I’m proud to know that his interest in international business began by working with me.
