Originally from New Jersey, Amanda Lanceter received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in Psychology, from Barnard College, Columbia University. While at Barnard, her topics of studies ranged widely, from a thesis on Bob Dylan’s use of masking and performance imagery in his works, to an independent study on themes of colonialism in works of science fiction, to a study of attachment behaviors in young children. During college, Ms. Lanceter was an editor of the Barnard Bulletin, an editorial assistant for Barnard Magazine, and an intern at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to Holocaust. She currently is a part of the selective New York City Teaching Fellows, through which she is getting her master’s in education at Brooklyn College. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, playing guitar, going to concerts, and visiting museums.
