¡HOLA! ME LLAMO ELISSA GARCIA.
I am a Spanish teacher at College of Staten Island High School for International Studies. I previously taught Spanish and Travel and Tourism at New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York.
I received my B.A. in Spanish at the College of Staten Island. I completed my graduate studies at Touro College and earned my Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language.
I was born in Queens, New York and raised on Long Island. Although I am a “native New Yorker”, my extensive travel to South America and the Caribbean has enhanced my love and appreciation for the Spanish language and culture.
My personal teaching style brings enthusiasm, cultural elements and technology into the classroom. I hope to instill in my students not only a passion for learning the Spanish language and culture, but the ability to embrace all cultures unique to their own.
