Ms Brigid Davies R.N. has worked as a Registered Professional nurse for the Department of Education since 1986. She has worked both as a one to one nurse and a medical room manager for severely medically compromised students in schools located in Manhattan and on Staten Island. She worked for eight years at P.S.37, on Staten Island , where she worked as the nurse manager for a class of severely medically challenged students, providing one on one nursing care, and supervising other Department of Education nurses. From P.S. 37, Ms Davies moved to I.S. 7, where she served for 3 years as a one to one nurse in the General Education population. Following that she spent seven years as a special education nurse, at P.S. 50 dealing primarily with students who had medical needs as well as learning disabilities. During her stint at P.S. 50, she also worked with general education students in association with the Department of Health of New York City. During the summer for the past 19 years, Ms. Davies has worked as a registered nurse in a variety of elementary, intermediate, and high school settings throughout the city’s boroughs.

Ms. Davies holds a B.S. degree in Fine Arts, and an Associates degree in Nursing, both from the College of Staten Island. She is a licensed, Registered Professional Nurse with The University of the State of New York. She enjoys spending time with her family, making art, and writing in her spare time, and is very happy to join the staff at the High School for International Studies at C.S.I., for the foreseeable future. She brings to the school a wealth of experience with different medical and educational backgrounds, and is keenly interested in researching International healthcare trends, history and practices.
